When a US shop is the right call
Pick the reason closest to yours.
An honest comparison
Neither option wins every time. These are typical patterns, not promises.
US shop
Higher labor cost, much shorter and more predictable supply chain.
- Prototype lead time often 1 to 3 weeks
- Same time zone, same language, easy visits
- No duties or ocean freight
- Smaller minimums are common
Offshore shop
Lower piece price on many parts, longer and less flexible supply chain.
- Add 4 to 8 weeks for ocean freight and customs
- Duties and brokerage on top of the quote
- Visits mean international travel
- Higher minimums to justify shipping

Common questions
Are all shops located in the United States?
Yes. Every shop we match through USA Machining machines parts at a facility in the United States. If you need a specific state or region, say so on the form.
Do you make the parts?
No. We are a matching service. The US shop you choose quotes, machines, ships and invoices the part.
Is it more expensive than offshore?
Often the piece price is higher. Total cost can be closer than it looks once you count freight, duties, inventory, travel and the cost of late or rejected parts. See our reshoring guide.
Can you handle ITAR or classified drawings?
No. Do not upload ITAR controlled or classified technical data through this site. Contact a registered shop directly for that work.
Do you help with Buy American or Berry Amendment requirements?
We can match you with shops that state they meet a requirement you name, such as domestic material sourcing. Confirming compliance stays between you and the shop.
How fast will I hear back?
Within 24 business hours you get either introductions to matched shops or a note explaining why no US shop fits yet.
